Spain has opened its second funding call of 2025 under the General Section of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), specifically aimed at supporting projects that strengthen the national value chain for microelectronics and semiconductors (ICV/ME).
This initiative forms part of Spain’s broader commitment to technological sovereignty and aligns with the strategic objectives of the PERTE Chip programme. It focuses on reinforcing Spain’s position in key technological sectors by promoting both industrial investments and R&D linked to the design, manufacturing, and supply of microchips and related components.
Who Can Apply and What’s at Stake
The call is open to companies and business groups operating in Spain that are active in the semiconductor or microelectronics industry. Both large corporations and SMEs are encouraged to participate, as long as their projects contribute to strengthening capacities such as:
Microchip design and manufacturing
Supply chain resilience and material sourcing
Development of advanced technological processes
Establishment of new production or testing facilities
The aim is to create a robust ecosystem around these technologies, reduce dependency on external suppliers, and foster innovation in a sector considered strategic for Spain and Europe.
Key Dates and How to Apply
Application period: From July 12 to August 5, 2025
Managing body: Ministry of Finance and Public Function
