Plan Profarma 2025: New Incentives for the Pharmaceutical Sector in Spain

The Spanish government has launched a new edition of the Profarma Plan (2025–2027), aimed at enhancing competitiveness and innovation in the pharmaceutical industry. This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Industry and Health, seeks to strengthen both industrial investment and R&D activities within the sector.

The Profarma Plan offers incentives through a classification system that evaluates pharmaceutical companies operating in Spain according to criteria such as their commitment to research, technological development, and manufacturing capacity. Companies that meet the established requirements receive a public rating, which can help them access preferential treatment in certain public procurement processes or state support programs.

This program is particularly relevant for companies involved in the production of medicines, active ingredients, and biotechnology products, as well as those investing in clinical research and the development of innovative therapies.
